A few days ago was my 60th birthday. <\/p>\n
For many months preceding it, I had generated a large
\nand increasing amount of anxiety about this impending
\nevent due to my own self-imposed pressure to celebrate
\nit as a big deal.<\/p>\n
Sure enough, a couple of days before the big day, I
\nstill didn’t know what I wanted to do, and was all
\nbound up in worry that I’d be hugely disappointed in
\nmyself.<\/p>\n
But amazingly,when the day arrived, I had a great time!<\/p>\n
I realized it’s because it turns out that I felt special from
\nthe inside out. Even though it was really fun when
\nothers joined in, the real joy didn’t seem to depend on
\nany of those external things that I’d predicted would
\nbe so important.<\/p>\n
What occurs to me now is that I can keep practicing
\nthat joy. <\/p>\n
For me, it’s associated with the tremendously powerful
\nevent of manifesting life in physical form. I like the
\nbelief that there’s a non-physical aspect of my own
\nbeing–the I AM–that participated in the joining of my
\nparents and drew together all the energy and matter
\nthat resulted in my physical birth.<\/p>\n
The wondrous thing is that, when viewed from this
\nperspective, every single one of us successfully
\nmanifested a human body, and then continued that
\nmanifestation all the way to the present moment. <\/p>\n
If this idea doesn’t fill you with awe, cover you with
\ngoosebumps, or at least make you grin with happy pride,
\nthink about it again.<\/p>\n
Whether you believe you were created by God, by your
\nown non-physical aspect, or by the entry of a random
\nsperm into a random egg through a process determined by
\nchance, genetics and various environmental factors,
\nthere’s nothing about your development from a
\nmicroscopic dot of organic matter into a human body
\nemerging out of your mother’s body that’s not beyond
\nastonishing.<\/p>\n
Then, you made it from that tiny size and limited
\nability to what you are now. Amazing!<\/p>\n
The facts of your birth and development into an adult
\nare manifestations that surely mightily overshadow
\nevery other dream you could conjure about what you want
\nto be, do, or have.<\/p>\n
If ever you find yourself thinking you’re a failure,
\nyou can’t do anything worthwhile, or you’ll never
\namount to anything, then you’ve no doubt lost track of
\nthe very fact of your physical existence.<\/p>\n

\nwe each have social encouragement to think we’re
\nwonderfully special, to be showered with love and
\npositive attention, to dream big and have our wishes
\ncome true, to think we deserve good things.<\/p>\n
\nyourself this way every day?<\/p>\n
\nto also regularly remember the stunning accomplishment
\nof creating your wondrously complex body?<\/p>\n
