Last night I was at a community potluck. Three people
\nreported having just recovered from the flu, one from
\npneumonia, and another from a bad fall. Yikes!<\/p>\n
In the past two weeks, I’ve learned of two other friends
\nwho’ve been diagnosed with advanced cancer. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n
All of these events happened at very inconvenient times,
\ncompletely disrupting the person’s life. Each person would
\nhave argued that they didn’t “plan” to get sick.<\/p>\n
Yet, all of them ignored signs that trouble was on the way,
\nbecause it wasn’t “convenient” to handle them at the time.<\/p>\n
Do you do this too? Do you put yourself last? Do you
\ncontinue to push yourself when you feel stressed, assuming
\nthat “stress is just part of life?” Do you assume there is
\nnothing you can do about your unhappiness, low self esteem,
\nfeelings of being trapped in your life circumstances? Do
\nnumb out, or cover up your stress and pain with food,
\nalcohol, work, shopping, drugs?<\/p>\n
But stress is the underlying cause of all illness, and even
\nall accidents.<\/p>\n
And you CAN do something about it!<\/p>\n
Lots of people think they “can’t afford” to pause and learn
\nhow to do things differently, because financial stress is
\nwhat’s causing them to push themselves until they get sick,
\nand financial stress leads to time stress, so they feel like
\nthey don’t have time to do anything differently.<\/p>\n
Please, take a deep breath.<\/p>\n
Sooner or later, the vicious cycle WILL be interrupted. It
\nwill either be by your conscious choice, deciding to get a
\nhandle on your life, deciding you ARE worth a better life,
\nor it will be by default, in the form of illness or an
\naccident.<\/p>\n
Illness and accidents are, to say the least, VERY
\nINCONVENIENT!<\/p>\n
And often, they are VERY EXPENSIVE in both money and time,
\nnot to mention suffering. It’s not exactly the vacation of
\nyour dreams to spend a week in bed, too sick to even read a
\ngood book, enjoy a movie, or be with those you love.<\/p>\n
And, remember the story of the frog who didn’t jump out of
\nthe water because he didn’t notice it was getting gradually
\nhotter and hotter, until he was cooked?<\/p>\n
If you’ve been limping along for years, “managing” to get by
\nwith the assistance of stopgap measures, you may be missing
\nthe clues that the water is getting hotter–that things are
\nhappening in your body that you may not be willing to
\nnotice.<\/p>\n

\ncomfort and happiness of awakening and becoming empowered by
\nconsciously choosing a vibrant life, rather than letting the
\ndefault of illness and injury just “happen” to you.<\/p>\n
