When I think about the world I love living in, I think
\nabout the people and animals I love, the beauty and joy
\nthat surrounds me, the countless opportunities there
\nare for all of us, and how very grateful I am to know
\nthat we all have the power to create our own realities.<\/p>\n
I love opportunities to spread that awareness to those
\nready to know it.<\/p>\n
Sometimes, really painful situations are what it takes
\nto reach across barriers of difference, distance, fear,
\nprejudice, and attachment to the familiar. <\/p>\n
Pain is what opened me up to trying something as weird
\nas Tapping in the first place. It was the pain of
\nfeeling powerless to help people who had come to me for
\nhelp, and the pain of my own personal suffering. <\/p>\n
There’s no shortage of pain in the lives of most people
\non the planet. Rich or poor, famous or unknown, healthy
\nor sick, educated or unschooled, religious or atheist,
\nfew are exempt. <\/p>\n
There are lots of people who are ready and willing,
\ncalling out to God or the universe for help. You may be
\none of them. People in “worse” circumstances than yours
\nare among them. People in “better” circumstances than
\nyours are among them.<\/p>\n
Do you recognize and accept the help that comes?<\/p>\n
It reminds me of this story:<\/p>\n
A terrible storm came into a town and local
\n officials sent out an emergency warning that
\n the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood
\n the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the
\n town to evacuate immediately.<\/p>\n
A faithful religious man heard the warning and
\n decided to stay, saying to himself, \u201cI will
\n trust God and if I am in danger, then God will
\n send a divine miracle to save me.\u201d<\/p>\n
The neighbors came by his house and said to
\n him, \u201cWe\u2019re leaving and there is room for you
\n in our car, please come with us!\u201d But the man
\n declined. \u201cI have faith that God will save me.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the man stood on his porch watching the
\n water rise up the steps, a man in a canoe
\n paddled by and called to him, \u201cHurry and get
\n in my canoe, the waters are rising quickly!\u201d
\n But the man again said, \u201cNo thanks, God will
\n save me.\u201d<\/p>\n
The floodwaters rose higher pouring water into
\n his living room and the man had to retreat to
\n the second floor. A police motorboat came by
\n and saw him at the window. \u201cWe will come up
\n and rescue you!\u201d they shouted. But the man
\n refused, waving them off saying, \u201cUse your
\n time to save someone else! I have faith that
\n God will save me!\u201d<\/p>\n
The flood waters rose higher and higher and
\n the man had to climb up to his rooftop.<\/p>\n
A helicopter spotted him and dropped a rope
\n ladder. A rescue officer came down the ladder
\n and pleaded with the man, “Grab my hand and I
\n will pull you up!” But the man STILL refused,
\n folding his arms tightly to his body. \u201cNo thank
\n you! God will save me!\u201d<\/p>\n
Shortly after, the house broke up and the
\n floodwaters swept the man away and he drowned.<\/p>\n
When in Heaven, the man stood before God and
\n asked, \u201cI put all of my faith in You. Why
\n didn\u2019t You come and save me?\u201d<\/p>\n
And God said, \u201cSon, I sent you a warning. I
\n sent you a car. I sent you a canoe. I sent you
\n a motorboat. I sent you a helicopter. What more
\n were you looking for?\u201d <\/p>\n
