This Week, Spring!

Where I live, spring has been announcing itself for
weeks, with pussy willows, crocuses, snowdrops,
daffodils, and now tiny green leaves and plum,
crabapple, and cherry blossoms, despite bursts of cold
and snow.

It’s a useful metaphor for wonderful things coming in
your life.

Whatever may be going on that isn’t as you would wish
it to be, there are also new things emerging that are
lovely in their own right, and also signs of more good
to come.

For me, that metaphor would be that on the third cold,
wet, cloudy day in a row, I could get to whining that
it’s “always” like this, and suffering because my
attention is on what I don’t like that is showing up
right now.

The other side of the metaphor is that I experience
great joy when my attention is on the explosion of life
and color that comes with spring.

I get to choose where to put my attention, which then
rules how I feel, which then guides my language and
behavior, which then reinforce what else shows up in my
experience.

If I want good things to happen in my finances,
business, relationships, body, home, I can use the
coming of spring to start feeling happy. Then I can
turn that happy attitude toward whatever else could use
an extra dose of positivity.

I can look for and enjoy signs of coming attractions,
no matter what reality is playing right now.

The word “springboard” takes on a whole new meaning!
