If you’ve never read Martha Beck’s splendid little
book, “The Joy Diet,” I heartily recommend it. She’s a
wonderful writer, full of humor, honesty, presence, and
an excellent prescription for health.
The book’s not much about the food part of your diet,
except for one small but important part. Here are the
rules for eating:
1. You must only eat what you really enjoy.
2. You must really enjoy everything you eat.
That’s the serious part. I laughed out loud on almost
every page of the book. I hope you’ll read it yourself.
